Sprouts Cooking is always active with opportunities for sprouting chefs to break into the culinary scene. Sprouts Cooking’s hands-on and deliciously FUN cooking camps and special events are designed for young foodies, curious cooks, and kitchen newcomers, while emphasizing the importance of nutrition and whole foods. Young chefs expand their palates, reinforce academic and social skills, and learn about food safety, knife skills, and experimenting with natural flavors and ingredients. 
Our camps are packed with culinary excitement and tasty adventures - and are open to kids ages 5-12!

SUMMER CAMPS at GPS 
JUNE 11-15 (9am-12pm): CULINARY PASSPORT
Get ready to expand your palate and travel the world! Join us as we taste new flavors and create delicious recipes. We’ll learn about cooking around the globe and countries we visit, including Italian Lasagna Cupcakes and Chocolate Biscotti from Italy, Coconut Mango Cake from Thailand, Fortune Cookies from China, Sweet and Savory Empanadas from Mexico and many more. Pack up your adventure bags and let’s get cooking!

JULY 9-13 (9am-12pm): CHOCOLATE LOVERS’ CAMP
Crazy about chocolate? So are we! Join as we make chocolate recipes from A to Z in this tasty camp where we’ll put your culinary creativity to the test. Don’t worry parents, we do a nice mix of savory and sweet recipes – think Mole Chili and Chocolate Croissants - so everyone leaves happy as can be! And while chocolate is our favorite ingredient of the week, we can’t wait to show you all of the other ingredients we’ll use from cheese to sweet potatoes and more. Grab your cocoa creativity and let’s get cooking!

JULY 23-27 (9am-12pm): CREATE THE RAINBOW CAMP
Ever wish you could just taste pink? Or savor some green? Join us in this exciting and color-packed cooking camp where we cook up the rainbow. Using vibrant and delicious ingredients, sprouting chefs will be introduced to a dazzling display of naturally colorful foods as we build our culinary techniques. Featuring both savory and sweet recipes from Hawaiian Rainbow Poke Bowls to Colorful Corn Salsa, Berry Pop Tarts, and Red Velvet Whoopee Pies, every day is a colorful culinary adventure that tastes lip-smackingly good!

JUNE 4-8 (9am-3pm): RESTAURANT CAMP (open to kids in rising 4th-7th grades only):
Let’s Wok and Roll! This week young chefs will create a restaurant with an Asian theme, and immerse themselves in every step of the process. Get ready to explore different Asian cuisines as we cruise through China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and India. Students will learn a variety of cooking techniques like steaming, sautéing, chopping, and rolling, as they prepare and perfect dishes like Pad Thai, sushi rolls, curry, Samosas, and Stir-fry. Students will be introduced to a number of different flavors this week too, like cilantro, tamarind, turmeric, and more. Get your taste buds ready for this tasty adventure through Asia! At the end of the week each camper can invite a guest to come and eat at their restaurant.

SUMMER CAMP AT BAYLOR:  
JUNE 25-29 (9am-3pm): GOURMET CHEF’S CHALLENGE
Everyone enjoys Iron Chef and Top Chef, and our Gourmet Chefs will have their own culinary showdown. Sprouting chefs will compete in groups to conquer Gourmet Chef Challenge criteria which will consist of: Most Original Recipe, Most colorful, Healthiest, Tastiest, and many other fun themes! The camp will also include working on teamwork and team building skills.

SUMMER CAMPS AT SIGNAL MOUNTAIN ARTS COMMUNITY CENTER (MACC)
JUNE 18-22 (9am-12pm): JUNIOR CHEFS COOK-OFF CAMP
Show off your skills and learn new techniques in what is sure to be the highlight of your summer. Featuring challenges that are similar to those you see on your favorite cooking shows including Team Challenges, Mystery Baskets, and Individual Flavors as we create culinary treats that are both savory and sweet. Your sprouting chefs will put a fun spin on recipes ranging from Black Bean Taquitos to Vegetable Crackers and everyone’s favorite Grilled Cheese Roll Ups. Now let’s get cooking!

JULY 16-20 (9am-12pm): SECRET INGREDIENT CAMP
Time to get creative in the Kitchen! Join us as we battle it out like they do in the Iron Chef’s Kitchen Stadium. With a new secret ingredient each day to guess, taste, prepare and enjoy, we’ll be whipping up recipes galore. And the secret ingredient is… shhh, we don’t want to ruin the surprise! All camps feature both savory and sweet recipes from Butternut Squash Ravioli to Panzanella and Chocolate Babka. Let’s get cooking!
